Metal powders

Powder metallurgy needs fine classification at the micron level. KROOSH multi-frequency screeners are perfect for such tasks.
Multi-frequency classifiers in most cases are the only solution for control screening and classification of dry powder materials with a given performance and quality on meshes from 15 to 500 microns.
Sizing of extra fine powders
Multi-frequency classifying screens successfully perform control screening of powders with an average Fisher size FSSS = 0.8-2.3 μm on meshes with an aperture size of 45 μm and above with simultaneous deagglomeration of the powder and continuous self-cleaning of the mesh.
Metal powders
Screening of metal powders is a challenging task:
  • Particle size are at the micron level.
  • The spec of the good product is very high.
  • There should be no loss of product in screenings, because the product itself is very expensive.
  • Also, the product is quite abrasive.

In many cases multi-frequency screeners are the only solution for control screening and classification of
dry powder materials with a given capacity and quality.

Metal powders (Tantalic)

Metal powders (Tantalic)

Purpose:
to increase production capacity of the tantalic metal powder production line as well as to increase the product quality.
Application:
fine classification of metal powders.
KROOSH Results:
high-spec product after the fine screening.
Reason of installation:
new line
Product:
a tantalic powder of different types (cut points 0.04mm, 0.1mm, 0.3mm … 1.0mm).
Metal powders (Carbonyl Iron)

Metal powders (Carbonyl Iron)

Purpose:
Control screening at the 40 microns threshold before packaging the finished product. Production capacity is 600 kg per hour, with allowable losses of the commercial fraction not exceeding 1.5%. The commercial product is the undersized fraction.
Application:
ultra-fine screening of metal powders.
KROOSH Results:
Product fraction losses are less than 1.0% at the specified production capacity.
Reason of installation:
When screening on conventional vibrating sieves, the losses of the commercial product "40...0" µm in the oversized fraction reached up to 10%, and the sieve cells frequently clogged.
Product:
Dispersed powders of carbonyl iron 0/40 µm.
Metal Powders (Tungsten Carbide)

Metal Powders (Tungsten carbide)

Purpose:
Sieving tungsten carbide powders with the separation of the 0/45µm fraction, with a production capacity of up to 600 kg per hour. The commercial product is the undersized fraction.
Application:
ultra-fine screening of metal powders.
KROOSH Results:
Precise separation at the specified threshold with minimal losses of the commercial product.
Reason of installation:
Sieve meshes clogging and loss of commercial product in the oversized fraction while screening at conventional (single-frequency) screeners,
Product:
Tungsten carbide powders
Metal Powders (Copper)

Metal powders (Copper)

Purpose:
Sieving of electrolytic copper powders with separation into fractions <100, 71, 63, 45 µm. Production capacity of up to 1200 kg per hour. Product spec is min.95%. The commercial product is the undersized fraction.
Application:
ultra-fine screening of metal powders.
KROOSH Results:
Precise separation of powders at the specified separation thresholds with the declared quality, and the sieves are self-cleaning.
Reason of installation:
Sieve clogging and loss of commercial fraction due to the complex branched (dendritic) shape of copper powder particles. The multi-frequency vibrating (MFV) screening technology's solved the clogging issue.
Product:
electrolytic copper powders.
