Application of multifrequancy screens in construction materials production

1. Screening sand-gravel-clay mixture with a moisture content of up to 6%

 

Screening product: sand for finishing materials.

Type of screen: ULS 2814.1.

Type of screening surface: cable sieve with polyurethane coating, 5x5 (6x6) mm openings.

Replaced equipment: conventional screen.

Reason for replacement: The conventional screen with a 5x100 mm sieve worked with sand purified of plant waste. Transition to substandard wet material with clay, plant and rock inclusions formed during road and construction works led to sieve blinding and passing of stones and plant fibers into the undersize.

 

Achieved results: The use of a ULS 2814.1 screen allowed the customer to obtain from cheap raw material 0-3 mm sand without any plant and stone inclusions. The capacity by the finished product was 6-20 t/h (depending on the moisture content), the specific capacity being 2.6-8.7 t/m2∙h. The service life of the screen was 12 months.

2. Screening of siftings of dolomite crushing
with a moisture content of up to 5% at a cut point of 1.4 mm

 

Screening product: dolomite for concrete and plaster mortars.

Type of screen: ULS 2310.1I, 2 units.

Type of screening surface: cable string-slot KROOSH, 1.6x60 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: conventional screen.

Reason for replacement: poor performance of the conventional screen by the 0-1.4 mm product (2 t/h), sieve blinding.

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2310.1I screens allowed a significant increase of the production line capacity and eliminating sieve blinding. The capacity of the screen by the 0-1.4 mm product at the round-the-clock work was 22-25 t/h while the specific capacity was 9.5-10.8 t/m²∙h. The service life of the sieve was 6 months.

3. Screening of siftings of dolomite crushing
with a moisture content of up to 5% at a cut point of 1.4 mm

 

Screening product: dolomite for concrete and plaster mortars.

Type of screening surface: nylon sieve, 2x2 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line.

Purpose of purchase: an increase in output.

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2310.1I screens allowed the customer to increase the production of quarry 6-1.4 and 0-1.4 mm sands. The capacity of one screen by the 0-1.4 mm product was 8-10 t/h at the round-the-clock work, the specific capacity being 3.5-4.7 t/m²∙h. The service life of the sieve was 2-3 weeks.

4. Control screening of gypsum at a cut point of 0.2 mm

 

Screening product: 0-0.2 mm gypsum for use in dry construction mixtures.

Type of screen: ULS 2310.1E.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 0.25 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: new technology.

Purpose of purchase: output of high quality product in accordance with current standards.

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2310.1E screen provided assured production of pure 0-0.2 mm gypsum. The capacity of the screen was up to 4 t/h, the specific capacity being 1.75 t/m²∙h.

5. Screening of granite crushing rejects
with a moisture content of up to 5%

 

Screening product: fine 8-2.5, 2.5-0.63, 0-0.63 mm gravel and sand.

Type of screen: ULS 2310.1E, 2 units.

Type of screening surface: rope string-slot KROOSH sieve, 3.3x60, 1.7x60 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line.

Purpose of purchase: organization of energy-efficient production of new marketable products from granite crushing rejects.

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2310.1E screens paved the way for a "dry" processing of 0-5 mm granite directly from wet crushing rejects, which had previously been sent to the dumps. The feed capacity of the line at the round-the-clock work was 30 t/h while the specific capacity on the 3.3x60 mm sieve was 13 t/m²∙h and on the 1.7x60 mm sieve – 6 t/m²∙h.

6. Screening of dry silica sand at a cut point of 0.3 mm

 

Screening product: 0-0.3 mm sand for use in dry construction mixtures.

Replaced equipment: in addition to an operating ULS 2010.1 screen.

Purpose of purchase: an increase in output.

 

Achieved results: The use of screen ULS 2310.1E, along with a screen ULS 2010.1 allowed the customer to double the production of fine sand. The feed capacity of the screen was up to 6-7 t/h, the specific capacity being 2.6-3 t/m²∙h.

7. Screening of dry natural sand at cut points of 0.6 and 0.4 mm

 

Screening product: 0.6-1.2, 0.4-0.6, 0-0.4 mm sands for use in dry construction mixtures.

Type of screen: ULS 2811.2, double deck.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 0.67 and 0.46 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: conventional double-deck screen with a deck screening area of 6 m².

Reason for replacement: poor capacity of the conventional screen (no more than 4 t/h), low quality product, short service life of sieves due to the large area of decks, complicated maintenance.

 

Achieved results: The use of a ULS 2811.2 screen allowed the customer to double the output of high quality fine sand, substantially reduce the cost of sieve replacement and screen maintenance. The capacity of the screen was up to 12 t/h, the specific capacity by the upper deck was 4.8 t/m²∙h. The service life of the sieve was 1 week.

8. Screening of dry natural sand at cut points of 0.42 and 0.18 mm

 

Screening product: 0.18-0.42 mm sand for glass production.

Type of screen: ULS 2010.1, 6 units in two-stage screening technology.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 0.5, 0.42 and 0.25 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line.

Purpose of purchase: improving the quality of raw materials for glass production.

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2010.1 screens allowed the customer to produce high quality fine sand. The specific feed capacity of a screen was 3.5-4.0 t/m²∙h at the first stage of screening and 2.1-2.4 t/m²∙h at the second stage of screening. The service life of the sieves was 3-6 weeks.

9. Screening of dust-free dry natural sand at a cut point of 0.42 mm

 

Screening product: 016-0.42 mm sand for production of high quality window and facing glass.

Type of screen: ULS with the working area of screening surface of 1.5-3.5 m², depending on the specified capacity.

Type of screening surface: polyamide, polyester, polyurethane sieves.

Replaced equipment: new technology.

 

Achieved results: The specific capacity of a screen by the undersize was 2-2.3 t/m²∙h. The content of the oversize in the undersize did not exceed 3-4%, which significantly reduced costs and met strict requirements to raw materials in the manufacture of window and facing glass.

10. "Dry" screening of crushed granite with a moisture content of up to 5%
and clay and dust content of up to 10% at a cut point of 5 mm

 

Screening product: 5-20 mm gravel.

Customer: granite quarries and stone crushing plants.

Types of screens: ULS 2814.12, 2814.1, 2811.2, 2310.1.

Types of screening surface: rope sieve with polyurethane coating and square openings and rope string-slit KROOSH sieve with rectangular openings.

Replaced equipment: new technology.

Achieved results: The specific feed capacity is 14-26 t/m²∙h. Transition to dry removal of clay and dust from fine fractions of gravel provides cost savings and preservation of water resources, eliminates the need for construction of cleaning plants, enables recycling of gravel from refuse heaps.

11. Screening of granulated chalk at a cut point of 1.25 mm

 

Screening product: 1.25-3 0-1.25 mm chalk.

Type of screen: ULS 2x1.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 1.25x1.25 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: conventional screen.

Reason for replacement: sieveblinding, inadmissible contamination of the oversize by the undersize (up to 10%) and of the undersize by the oversize (up to 35%).

 

Achieved results: The use of ULS 2x1 screen allowed to reach 98-99% efficiency of screening and eliminate sieve blinding. The feed capacity of the screen was 16 t/h at the round-the-clock work while the specific capacity was 8.5 t/m²∙h.

12. Screening rejects of dolomite crushing
with a moisture content of up to 5% at cut points of 2.2 and 1.2 mm

 

Screening product: fine gravel and sand size classes 2.2-6, 1.2-2.2, 0-1.2 mm for the production of concrete products and building materials.

Type of screen: ULS 2811.2, double deck.

Types of screening surface: cable string-slot KROOSH sieve, 2.2x60 and 1.6x60 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line.

Purpose of purchase: improving the quality and range of products.

 

Achieved results: The use of a ULS 2811.2 screen allowed production of high-quality fine 0-1.2 mm sand, as well as isolate a new fraction – high-quality fine 2.2-6 mm gravel. The feed capacity of the screen was 50 t/h, the specific feed capacity of the upper deck was 20 t/m²∙h while that of the bottom deck – 14 t/m²∙h.

Screening product: 0-1.6 mm chalk for use in the manufacture of polished sheet glass.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 1.6x1.6 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line for production of polished sheet glass with a capacity of 780 tons per day.

Purpose of purchase: providing a continuous supply of charge mixture of a given quantity and quality to a glass melting furnace.

Achieved results: Pure starting material for the manufacture of glass on modern screening equipment was produced. The capacity of the screen by the finished product was 11-12 t/h, the specific capacity was 4.8-5.2 t/m²∙h.

Purpose of purchase: providing a continuous supply of charge mixture of a given quantity and quality to a glass melting furnace.

 

Achieved results: Pure starting material for the manufacture of glass on modern screening equipment was produced. The capacity of the screen by the finished product was 25 t/h, the specific capacity was 10.9 t/m²∙h.

Purpose of purchase: providing a continuous supply of charge mixture of a given quantity and quality to a glass melting furnace.

 

Achieved results: Pure starting material for the manufacture of glass on modern screening equipment was produced. The capacity of the screen by the finished product was 8 t/h, the specific capacity was 8.3 t/m²∙h.

Achieved results: Pure starting material for the manufacture of glass on modern screening equipment was produced. The capacity of the screen by the finished product was 0.25 t/h, the specific capacity was 0.62 t/m²∙h.

17. Screening of dry aluminosilicate microspheres at cut points of 0.3 and 0.1 mm

 

Screening product: 0.1-0.3 and 0-0.1 mm microspheres.

Type of screen: ULS 2811.2, double deck.

Type of screening surface: polyamide sieve, 0.3 and 0.1 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a new line for production of fractional aluminosilicate microspheres.

Purpose of purchase: production in commercial quantities of new classes of microspheres, which increases their consumer properties and significantly expands the demand for microspheres in high technology industries.

 

Achieved results: The capacity of the screen was 900-1000 kg/h by 0.1-0.3 mm fraction and 15-20 kg/h by 0-0.1 mm fraction, which corresponded to their actual amount in the starting material (microspheres of ash ponds at thermal stations). The specific feed capacity of the screen was 425-460 kg/m²∙h.

with a moisture content of up to 5% at cut points of 2.4 and 1.2 mm

 

Screening products: 2.4-6, 1.2-2.4, 0-1.2 mm dolomite used in production of concrete and plaster mortars.

Type of screen: ULS 2811.2, double deck.

Types of screening surface: rope string-slot KROOSH sieves, 2.6x60 and 1.4x60 mm openings.

Replaced equipment: a ULS 2310.1I screen.

Purpose of purchase: expanding the range and volume of output.

 

Achieved results: The additional use of a ULS 2811.2 screen in line with a ULS 2310.1I screen allowed the customer to produce high-quality 2.4-6, 1.2-2.4, 0-1.2 mm products on the ULS 2811.2 screen and 1.2-6 and 0-1.2 products on the ULS 22310.1I screen. The feed capacity of the ULS 2811.2 screen was 42 t/h, the specific capacity of the upper deck being 16.8 t/m²∙h and that of the bottom deck – 14.8 t/m²∙h.
